The Stainless Steel Oil Filled Gauge is the all-round workhorse of industrial pressure measurement: a corrosion-resistant stainless steel case and bezel, a liquid-filled interior, and a Bourdon tube movement that reads reliably on water, air, oil, and many mild chemical media. It is chosen where a standard dry brass gauge would corrode, fog, or wear quickly, but where the application does not demand the special protection of a diaphragm seal.

The fill liquid does three jobs at once. It lubricates the movement so gears and pivots wear more slowly, it damps needle vibration so the pointer is easier to read on pumped lines, and it fills the case so that condensation cannot form inside the window. Glycerin fill suits ambient temperatures from about -20°C to +65°C, while silicone oil extends usable range toward colder and hotter installations, letting one gauge family cover most utility and process conditions.

Every gauge is assembled in our 100,000-level clean workshop, where fill liquid is degassed and dosed under controlled conditions and the case is sealed with a gasketed crimped bezel ring. Calibration, fill type, and leak-test results are stored in our Advanced MES digital tracking system against each serial number, so a distributor can trace any delivered batch back to its material certificates and test records.

A safety-pattern construction with a solid baffle wall and a blow-out disc at the back is available as standard, and the filling plug is fitted with a vent so the case pressure equalizes after installation. Customers can choose 63mm, 100mm, or 150mm dials, bottom or back connection, and 304 or 316L wetted parts to match the media and mounting style of their skid or panel.

Glycerin suits most ambient sites; silicone oil is better for sustained low or high temperatures and for lower-viscosity damping.

Is a liquid-filled gauge always better than a dry one?

Not always; dry gauges are lighter and suit clean, vibration-free lines, while filled gauges suit outdoor and pulsating service.

What does the vent plug do?

Can it be used on steam?
