The pressure side uses a robust bronze or stainless steel Bourdon tube sized for the high working pressures typical of commercial and industrial boiler headers, while the temperature side is driven by a capillary-connected sensing bulb inserted into the boiler shell or feed line through a thermowell. Both movements are housed in a single reinforced case built to withstand the heat radiating from an adjacent boiler shell during normal operation.
