Precision instrumentation engineered for water treatment diaphragm seal gauge applications

The Water Treatment Diaphragm Seal Gauge is built around the actual fluids found in a municipal or industrial treatment plant: raw sewage and sludge, thickened biosolids, ferric and alum coagulants, sticky polymer solutions, and sodium hypochlorite. Many of these media corrode brass, plug narrow ports, or deposit films that lock up an unprotected Bourdon tube. A diaphragm seal removes the problem by keeping all of these fluids on the process side of a flexible membrane.

The seal is available with a wide threaded process opening or a short flange so that sludge can flow across the diaphragm face without collecting. For polymer dosing and ferric chloride, PTFE-lined or Hastelloy diaphragms are offered, while stainless steel is used for sludge and filtrate service. The fill liquid is selected for the cold winter temperatures of outdoor treatment works as well as the warm conditions of aeration halls.

Assembly takes place in our 100,000-level clean workshop, where each seal is vacuum filled and then cycled to confirm that it returns cleanly to zero. Diaphragm material, fill grade, and calibration are stored in our Advanced MES digital tracking system against each serial number, so a plant maintenance planner can reorder the same seal for each duty point on a process line.

Unlike a general chemical seal, this model is tuned to the duty of a water treatment works: a large dial for reading from walkway level, a corrosion-resistant case to withstand hydrogen sulfide and chlorine atmospheres in screening and chemical rooms, and a flushing connection so operators can rinse sludge from the diaphragm face during routine maintenance rounds.
