Back Connection HVAC Pressure Meter

Panel Instrumentation Series

Back Connection HVAC Pressure Meter

A rear-entry process connection keeps all pipework hidden behind the panel while the dial reads flush on the front face, giving control cabinet builders a cleaner, more professional-looking instrument layout with no bottom-entry stub visible below the case.

Product Introduction

Precision instrumentation engineered for back connection hvac pressure meter applications

The Back Connection HVAC Pressure Meter routes its process connection straight out of the rear of the case rather than the bottom, allowing the entire instrument to sit flush against a control panel with the connecting pipework completely concealed behind the panel sheet metal. This is the preferred configuration for cabinet builders who want a clean, professional dial layout on the visible face without a protruding stub pipe interrupting the line of gauges below the panel edge.

Behind the dial, a bronze or stainless steel Bourdon tube converts line pressure into pointer rotation through a movement mounted for stable operation regardless of the gauge's orientation on the panel, since back-connected gauges are frequently installed at various heights and sometimes even on angled or sloped control desks. The rear connection stub is sized to pass cleanly through a standard panel cut-out along with the mounting bracket, simplifying installation for panel assembly technicians working from the rear of the cabinet.

Assembly takes place in our 100,000-level clean workshop, where the rear stub-to-case weld or thread joint is pressure-tested individually before the movement is fitted, guaranteeing no hidden leak path exists behind the panel where it would be difficult to detect during routine visual inspection. Every unit's connection configuration and calibration record is logged in our Advanced MES digital tracking system.

A front bezel ring and U-clamp bracket secure the case to the panel from behind, so no visible fasteners interrupt the clean dial face from the front. This makes the back-connection configuration particularly popular for retail-facing equipment fronts, architecturally exposed plant rooms, and any installation where panel aesthetics matter as much as functional pressure indication.

Industrial Applications

Where back connection hvac pressure meter performance is mission-critical

Control Cabinet Instrument Grids

Rows of back-connected gauges give a clean, uninterrupted dial line across a control cabinet front

Retail-Facing Equipment Fronts

Concealed pipework suits equipment where customers or the public may view the panel from the front

Architecturally Exposed Plant Rooms

Suits modern plant rooms designed with visible glazed walls where instrument tidiness is part of the design brief

Sloped or Angled Control Desks

Orientation-stable movement performs reliably on angled operator consoles and sit-stand control desks

Compact Skid-Mounted Equipment Panels

Rear connection saves front panel depth on compact skids where bottom-entry stubs would foul adjacent components

Technical Highlights & QC

Every unit validated for zero-defect performance

  • Rear Stub Weld Pressure Test: The rear connection stub-to-case joint is individually pressure-tested before the movement is fitted to guarantee no hidden leak path.
  • Multi-Orientation Calibration Check: Movement accuracy is verified with the case in multiple mounting orientations to confirm stable performance regardless of panel angle.
  • Panel Cut-Out Fit Verification: Sample units are fitted to a standard DIN panel cut-out template to confirm consistent, tool-free installation.
  • U-Clamp Bracket Torque Test: Rear mounting bracket fasteners are torque-tested to confirm secure panel retention without over-stressing the case.
  • Full-Scale Linearity Sweep: Each unit is stepped through the full pressure range to verify linearity within the specified accuracy class.
  • MES Serial Tracking: Connection configuration, stub length, and calibration data are stored digitally against each unit's serial number.

Environment & Media Compatibility

Engineered for demanding operating environments

  • Concealed Panel Cavity Conditions: Rear stub and fittings are rated for the confined, sometimes poorly ventilated space behind a sealed control panel.
  • Angled Console Mounting: Orientation-stable Bourdon tube movement maintains accuracy on sloped operator desks and angled equipment fronts.
  • Vibration from Panel-Mounted Equipment: Optional glycerin fill damps pointer flutter transmitted through the panel from adjacent motors or switchgear.
  • Humidity Behind Sealed Panels: Sealed case and gasketed window resist condensation that can form in poorly ventilated panel cavities.
  • Dust Accumulation in Cabinet Interiors: Rear stub design keeps the process connection joint away from front-panel dust that could otherwise obscure a bottom-entry stub.
  • Repeated Panel Access for Maintenance: Rear U-clamp bracket withstands repeated removal and refitting during panel maintenance without loosening over time.

Pro Tips for Longevity

Installation & maintenance best practices

  • Confirm Rear Clearance Before Installation: Verify sufficient depth exists behind the panel for the rear stub and connecting pipework before cutting the panel opening.
  • Support the Rear Pipework Independently: Do not let the connecting pipe hang solely from the gauge stub; support it separately to avoid stressing the rear joint.
  • Use the Correct Panel Cut-Out Size: Match the panel cut-out precisely to the case diameter specification to ensure the U-clamp bracket seats correctly.
  • Tighten the U-Clamp Evenly: Tighten the rear bracket screws evenly and progressively to avoid distorting the case or misaligning the dial face.
  • Label Rear Connections Clearly: Since pipework is hidden from the front, label rear connections clearly during installation to simplify future maintenance.
  • Specify Glycerin Fill for Panels Near Vibration Sources: Choose the glycerin-filled option when the panel is mounted near motors, compressors, or other vibration-generating equipment.

Payment & Logistics

Reliable global supply chain from factory to your site

  • Flexible Payment Terms: We support T/T (30% deposit, balance before shipment), L/C at sight for large orders, and secure B2B trade assurance platforms for new customers.
  • Global Freight Options: Sea freight from Ningbo or Shanghai for bulk orders; DHL, FedEx, or UPS air express for urgent sample and small-batch shipments.
  • Rear Stub Protected Packaging: Each gauge ships with a fitted end cap over the rear stub thread to prevent damage or contamination during transit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before specifying or ordering

How much clearance is needed behind the panel?
Typically 60-100mm depending on dial size and stub length; our dimensional drawing specifies the exact clearance for each model.
Can the rear stub length be customized?
Yes, standard and extended stub lengths are available to suit different panel thicknesses and pipework routing requirements.
Does back connection affect reading accuracy?
No, the connection location does not affect accuracy; the movement is calibrated identically to bottom-entry equivalents.
What panel material and thickness is compatible?
Standard steel and aluminum panels from 1.5mm to 4mm thickness are compatible with the standard U-clamp bracket.
Can I mix back-connection and bottom-entry gauges on the same panel?
Yes, but back-connection units are recommended for a uniformly clean front appearance across an entire instrument row.
Is a glycerin-filled version available for back-connection models?
Yes, glycerin fill is available as an option for installations near vibration sources such as motors or compressors.
How is the gauge removed for calibration or replacement?
Access from behind the panel to loosen the U-clamp bracket; the gauge then withdraws forward through the panel cut-out.
What is the standard panel cut-out tolerance?
Cut-out dimensions follow standard DIN sizing with a small clearance tolerance specified in our installation drawing.
Can this gauge be supplied with a switch contact for alarms?
Yes, back-connection models are available with an integral electrical switch contact for alarm or interlock applications.
What certifications does this gauge carry?
Standard units carry ISO9001:2015, CE, and RoHS compliance; additional certifications are available on request.
